Essential Skincare Products for a Healthy and Glowing Complexion

It is a desire shared by many individuals to have a healthy and glowing complexion but there are certain skincare practices that you will need to maintain consistently in order to achieve this. For example, you have to use the right products which suit your skin and address your unique needs.

The first step of a skincare routine

Is cleansing and this will help remove makeup, dirt, oil and other impurities that collect on your skin throughout the day. By using a cleanser, you will be able to prevent clogged pores and breakouts. You need to choose a cleanser that is suited to your skin type. You may have an oily, dry, combination or sensitive skin and it is important that the Ciencia Skincare you use correspond to it. You can use cleanser in the morning and night and this will also help prepare your skin for subsequent products as well. You can slough away dead skin cells by using an exfoliator. There are physical and chemical exfoliators on the market and the act of exfoliation will help promote cell turnover. You can use a chemical exfoliator that has ingredients such as beta hydroxyl acids or alpha hydroxyl acids. But these should not be used every day. Generally, you can exfoliate two or three times a week.

A physical exfoliant that is gentle on your skin can also be used to remove dead skin.

With regular exfoliation, you will be able to enjoy a fresher complexion so that fine lines and wrinkles can be diminished. You need to have a moisturiser that will help prevent loss of moisture from the skin and ensure it is well hydrated. This is required for any skin type. Many people have the misconception that they don’t need a moisturiser if they have oily skin but there are lightweight formulations that you can use without feeling greasy. Some of the hydrating ingredients you can look for in a moisturiser are glycerine, hyaluronic acid and ceramides so that your skin barrier can be replenished. You need to do this morning and night so that your skin can remain smooth.

An essential part of your skincare regimen is the use of sunscreen.

This will prevent premature ageing of skin. Your skin is exposed to the sun on a daily basis and this can contribute to the formation of dark spots, wrinkles and other signs of sun damage. No matter what type or colour of skin you have, you need to have a broad spectrum sunscreen applied to your screen. The SPF has to be at least 30 or above and this can be applied to all exposed skin such as the face, neck and hands. A serum can be used to address specific skincare concerns such as uneven texture, hyperpigmentation or fine lines. You can select a serum that is anti-ageing, brightening or hydrating and this can be used in the step between cleansing and moisturising. Eye cream can also be used to protect the delicate skin around the eyes with anti-ageing and hydrating ingredients. However, you can forgo a dedicated eye cream and use an enriched moisturiser instead.
